It was an enjoyable weekend for both of us. Perhaps the feeling of "escaping" from work prompted Geri to take another day off on Monday to extend her hatch day celebrations. As her partner, me too have to accompany her for some reason. =P For that, we went to Orchard Hotel, La Terrasse, for afternoon high tea. It was offering a 1-for-1 high tea buffet meal.

Being a small eater, Nahele really did not make her money worth for buffets. Instead, I had to eat her share to make up for it. The food served comprises of fried noodles, dim sum, desserts, fruits and chocolate fondue. Nahele's all time favourite was the kueh pie tee (a nonya snack made like a crispy little cup with turnip and other ingredients). Started the buffet at about 2.30pm and ate to our fill at about 5pm!! Both of us ended up with a bloated tummy. Think both of us really have to work out after that.

Us being photo enthusiastic, started our photo craze once again, this time round, show-casing the desserts, while busily filling our growling stomach. Yummy... =P

Sweet sweet desserts....

This year was kinda special for me. For which, I would have to use up my brain juice to think and plan for someone's birthday. A very special one too... Recalling back, it really took me quite some time to have it all planned out. My initial plan of celebrating for her was dashed due to the F1 race event held over the weekend. Nevertheless, i managed to come up with another one shortly after. Phew... The girl's birthday was on the 27th Sep. I took a day off on the 26th, to collect some stuff in order to give her a huge surprise. Collecting the cake and flowers were all part of the surprise. I felt really bad when she wanted to meet me for dinner on the eve of her birthday and I could only tell a lie to push it off, just because wanting to give her this 'surprise'. Can feel she was a bit disappointed when I said I would most probably not be meeting her since I was with a friend. But it was just an excuse, a disguise...

A Happy Geri with her "sweet" surprise!

Made up for it by rushing down to her place at about 9 plus, with the huge F1 crowd, who had just finished watching the live action pushing and shafting me in the train. I was protecting the cake with my life, not forgetting the bouquet of flowers!! This is my one and only cake yea! Don't you people squash it!! Upon reaching, I called her, asking her to get changed and she sounded really shocked as to why I had made my way down? The forgetful Geri of mine had left her wallet in the office!! Since there's still a couple of hours to midnight, I decided to go down with her, to office and pick up her wallet. With one hand holding on to the cake and the other holding her hand, I do not feel shag nor tired. In fact, it was really an enjoyable yet unforgettable night for me. She, on the other hand was holding on tightly to the bouquet of purple roses which i had gotten for her.

A bouquet of purple roses for my sweet one =)

After that, we made our way back to her void deck and that's where i start celebrating for her precious day. Although it might seem common to some, but it really took quite an effort of me to come up with all these systematically. Ideas after ideas and activities after activities. Hopefully, she would really enjoyed every moment of it. With that, it sparked a remarkable start to her birthday as I brought her to another new place shortly after that... =)

That's us =D

Being a car enthusiastic that I am, Geri was kind enough to accompany me to this year's Super Import Nights. It's an exhibition of fast cars and hot babes.

Lotus

But I would say that people are actually there for the babes rather than the cars. This year, there were import models from US, Thailand, Japan and even our very own local models. Frankly, the models added up to be more than the cars. Perhaps she was worried that I would be swarmed by a group of hot models, that's why she chose to take a look at this year's exhibition. =P A different company and a different feel. Guessed she would have really been bored throughout, considering the number of ladies who attended, could be counted with just both hands!! To think that we actually stayed for the whole day!! Nevertheless, managed to capture few shots of the fast cars and the babes and getting our money spent worthwhile... =P

Thanks Geri for accompanying me to an exhibition which is so uninteresting for ladies. Hopefully, you did not bore to death even with my company. =P

It was my second consecutive year making my way down to Chinese Garden for the Lantern Festival. This year was pretty different. Firstly, the theme was Hello Kitty. Gosh... Guess the plan of the organizing committee was to attract more kids. As such, parents would have to tag along too. Secondly, I was going down with a different person this year. Feeling was totally different and I truly enjoyed every moment of it. =) Thirdly, I must really that we were quite lucky! Geri and I actually made our way down on the 6th Sep, only to be greeted by dark clouds along the way. We were hesitating on whether to enter since we had already bought the tickets. And with Kelvin and Ailian waiting for us inside, more kinda prompted us to join them. However, when it started to drizzled, we just made up our mind and headed back. All I could say was a sorry to Kelvin and Ailian was sorry and it was the weather, not us!!

Therefore, we decided to go back on the 13th Sep, which was the eve of Mid Autumm Festival. We almost couldn't make it in time for the mini fireworks. The crowd was terrible, having to squeeze through a pack of ants. I would say the reflections on the calm water of the brighly litted exhibits were really beautiful. We were busily snapping the whole night.

Here are some of the pics taken. Picture intentsive!! =)

Welcome to Lantern Festival 08. I'm Hello Kitty!! =P

Love Birds =)

And as much as we did not have the chance to carry the traditional old-school lanterns (because we were busy holding our cameras), savour mouth-watering mooncakes or enjoy a moon-gazing session together (because we were busy taking pictures), at least the feeling of going there with her and the time spent with her walking around Chinese Garden was enjoyable and fun =)

Libra (23 Sep - 22 Oct)

A man who has no balance like his Zodiac symbol. He is not the gentle, cool , calm and charming guy like what you see. He has another dark side of aggression, stubborn and he likes to start an argument the most. Sometimes he can be so depress and unstable. Up and down like he is trying to balance himself most of the time.

To many people, he is a friendly guy and always smile even when he is mad or up set. His voice always gentle and calm. he always set and comb his hair as if he comes out from a shampoo advertisement. Mostly Libra men are good looking, even the ugly one is charming. When he smiles, it is so bright that the whole world is smiling with him too.

When he is in a balance mood, he is the type of person you want to be with. In other unbalancing mood, he likes to make people argue about something and watching it with fascination and fun. He will wait to be the one who compromise and clear thing up. He likes to be in a conflicting conversation.
Libra man is lazy by nature. After his tired day at work, he likes to sit still and just look out of the window or read quietly. He likes to be in his own world. After recharging his battery, he will be very energetic again and may even take you out that night.

Libra man normally will not do any shocking or abnormal things to be noticed. He likes to be conformed with his crowd, but if you watch him carefully, you will see the different. If he wear a shirt, it will have to be a zipper front instead of buttons, or a special tie bar. There is always something in him that he will not allow totally conformity to take him over.

A straight forward , no non-sense guy. He is careful and delicate in details. He will spent extra time to doing it right, than comes back to correct them later. He hates people who boost, or exaggerate. He does not like over dressed woman or make herself a center of an attention.

He loves to read. He loves poems and loves art. When he works he can work like crazy, but after work he can turn on romantic jazzy music and treat you so gently. He loves to give people advice and normally give a good advice. If you fall for him, you will stay like being trapped in a spider web. If you want to break up with him, he will persuade you a zillion ways to stay and you can not stop him anyway. After he persuade you to stay, or after a big fight, he will be so sweet to you as if he has never hurt your feeling
before ever.

He will has his own way to win a girl love and affection. Once she says yes, he will lay back and wonder if he should go on or if he should back out. In his teen, he changed many girl friends because he can not clearly separate loving a friend and loving a girl friend. He will check and re-cheek if his match is suitable and compatible with him.

Even he is a romantic man, he can hardly understand the emotion of the one he loves. He is a generous guy even he sets his life so systematically. He never knows when he makes you unhappy. He never knows how he up set you. He will never knows what he said wrong. If he is your lover, be prepare for this.

A not so pretty girl with no brain is not his type of woman. If you are not pretty enough, he will not mind talking to you but he does not care to get to know you. Any girls, pretty or ugly can ask for his help, he will be happy to help. He hates to argue by yelling at each other, so you tend to see he argue with his girl friend seriously but try at best to be very quiet.

He likes to have a girl friend by getting to know each other like a friend first. If you want him, you have to like the same thing he does. He prefers a pretty and gentle woman than a smart and ugly woman. You have to understand his mood especially he can has many different moods. He is a private person, so when he needs to be alone better let him be.

Something Beautiful?? You bet... Went down to the Arts House over the weekend with my buddies and Geri to catch a glimpse of a photo exhibition, "Something Beautiful". A showcase by photographer, Zhang Jingna (a.k.a Zemotion), on her beautiful portraits and fashion photography, set us in awe on her truly amazing and beautiful works. It was an inspiring exhibition for all photographers out there. Hopefully, one day i could be like her in the future!! =P

I've never experienced making a mooncake in my life, not to mention having to try my end product!! Never did I know that mooncake making can be so much fun!! Haha.. =) Credits to Geri who bought all the ingredients and having to bring it all the way to the west. She even attended a mooncake making course last year to teach her patients and me!!

When it comes to making the dough, I was absolutely thrilled... It was so much fun having to play around with the sticky dough. Initially, the colour wasn't really well mixed. The colour was dull and whitish. Somehow, we managed to get it done in a more presentable way. Tadah..... Pink mooncakes!!

Nice and Yummy!!!

I would say it was mission accomplished. Our very self made mooncakes!! Mooncake making was fun!! =P
