The girl and I had the chance to go out to the open sea of Singapore to do some shooting after both of us signed up for a free maritime event organised by the
Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) It was really a cool experience for of us even though we had to wake up in the wee hours where everyone else were still sleeping just to head on down for this event.
And so, we boarded a vessel and head out to the open sea for some photography. An eye opener for both of us accompanied by a nice weather. We really enjoyed ourselves and guessed we were considered lucky too, having to be picked out of so many others who had signed up for this event.
P.S Due to the regulatory requirements, I could not post any pictures here. So well.

It was my first time yet again going to a fashion exhibition. Maybe it's because there aren't a lot of such events in Singapore or it could due to me lack of creativity to appreciate such wonders. Nevertheless, I accompanied the girl to the National Museum to catch the Christian Lacroix Exhibition.

It was chance to get to see different costumes and given her enthusiasm, I simply couldn't reject her chance of going down. It was the last day of the exhibition and we even got free entry! Haa...

There were illustrations/sketches as well. Pretty cool yea!? If you ask me, I wouldn't mind attending another one, given there is another. =)

Over the month, my colleagues have organized couple of outings. First it was a chalet BBQ at Downtown East and the other, my colleague Kartini's Birthday dinner at
Grand Shanghai Restaurant at Grand Copthorne Hotel!

Me and my colleagues, with the girl as well!
Our group photo at the restaurant
A very "Cina" looked alike posh restaurant with singers and jazz band performing every night, singing Chinese oldies for the audience. The ambience was quite nice, offering oriental dishes from Shanghai.

Men, if you think you will be become a woman's pet, listening and following their instructions as and when they command/demand, that's where you are wrong!
Ladies, if you think that you can control a man with a snap on the fingers and made known to the world that men are "arseholes", that's where you are wrong!
Men should catch this play at all cost. Finally, after so long, someone is standing on the stage speaking up for men! Women should catch this play and understand and feel enlighten that not all men are arseholes. Some of them can be really nice in fact. Ehem.... =D
It brought us back to the ancient times, where men are known as hunters and women as gatherers. At that time, both men and women are already behaving differently. It is only after this play that helps me fully understand the "theory" on how men and women talk and behave in the modern world. All I can say is that men and women are truly two different species. I fully agree with actor Joe Little's "theories" of men and women and how he portrays the behavior and characteristics of men and women. Kudos to him on how he speaks up for all men, although his wife might be pulling his ear after the play. Haa... And the girl making a few stern glance at me as and when... (Just joking)
Overall, the girl and I enjoyed the play, together with a full sellout! Men, it's time to "gather" and speak up! Haha. And with that, a general comment, MEN are not "arseholes!"

First, it was Japanese Garden, now it was
Bottle Tree Park. In case anyone who have never heard of this place, it's in Khatib area, the Northern part of Singapore. The girl had found this place online and wanted to check it out. For me, since I have never been there too, might as well take a look since the place looks quite nice from the website. A Westlander like me, having to travel there was really a torture. It was really far! The whole journey for me to get there took me like an hour! It was much nearer for the girl.
Nevertheless, I shall not complain too much since it was my first time there too. We took our lunch at a nearby Macdonald's before taking a slow stroll to the park. The sky was gloomy by then and it drizzled. Thankfully, it wasn't very heavy initially. It soon got heavier and we had no choice but to take shelter in a coconut hut. That's where we started taking pictures yet again. =D
The park was actually quite small, with the Bottle Tree as the hightlight of the park.
The legendary Bottle Tree...
There was a seafood restaurant and a swan lake that allows people to take a swan ride in it. However, it only operates in the evening and cost about 9 dollers per hour!
When the rain stops, we took our leave, knowing that this would not be the only park which we would explore. There would be more to come... Haa...

Year 2008 has passed and let's welcome 2009. It was an eventful year for me as well as many others, even the country was not to be spared. Hopefully 2009 would be a better year not only for me, as well as many others.
The girl and I welcomed 2009 by spending time together, window shopping at Clarke Quay, hoping that we can catch the festivities later on in the area. But before that, we tucked in at Waraku Central for a nice Japanese meal.
Check out our food... Yummy!! =P
It was only after the meal, which we found out that the festivities only will start at a later timing nearer to 12am! Knowing that the girl hates crowded places, we decided to take a slow walk back to city hall area to catch the scene before the countdown. It was really crowded... (
That's where we decide to give this year's fireworks a miss and catch it on television instead)
However, we started cam-whoring ourselves yet again, on the walk back to city hall... Haa... =)
It was really nice to spend time with her by my side...
So Happy New Year to you, my dear girl. =)

The girl had always wanted to check out Japanese Garden, which is just situated next to Chinese Garden but somehow, the place is just too far away from her home. This time round, we made sure that we should really head on down to take a look since we had something on in the west area too latter in the day. Kudos to the poor girl, who had to wake up early and made the trip down. Not only that, she was wearing a pair of new shoes which saw her limping with blisters on the back of her ankle area. Hai... =(
Nevertheless, we still managed to finish"exploring" the Garden and it was really a nice place for photo-takings too. Maybe, we can do a shoot there next time. Right girl? =D

Every year, me and my group of buddies would usually 'gather' for our our annual big meet up. No doubt, this year would be still be the same even though there's an additional "member" to the group. Haa. This year's meet up was a bit late, but surprisingly everyone tried to turn up for it. Cheers to the organizer, which is me!! Haha. =) Going through the net on the nice places that serves good food, I came across
Mint Cafe, a toy museum integrated with a cafe selling food on the basement level. Cool concept, I would say, with the ambience and lightings that looks just like a concept restaurant. And that the food was quite good!
My order, Crabmeat Spaghetti with cheese something...
The whole session saw us gubbling down our food, as we were really hungry! At the same time saw us chit chatting non-stop on our recent activities and plans for the upcoming. After which, we wrapped things up and proceed to our usual TC session at a nearby coffee cafe. Before we do that, it's cam-whoring time!! =P

Me and the Jims

Not forgetting the usual group photo

And me with Popeye the Sailor Man, Tu.. Tu..
See you guys soon yea... Guys power!! Haha...

It was my first time going down to the Pump Room in Clarke Quay. My friends were kind enough to organize this outing, knowing that my birthday was coming up pretty soon. The ambience there was pretty good, although the food portion could have been more. Credits to Ah Teck for making a reservation for us and thanks to all who have turned up for the dinner. The live band there was really nice!! Their voices were simply marvelous. I was so hooked up with the songs they sang that I came back looking for the songs. Hahaha. Overall, it was a nice place for people to hang out with and to enjoy live music. =)

Nice place huh...

Grilled chicken I had ordered.

Two couples (The dark side vs the light side)

Lastly, a group shot. =D

Happy Children's Day!! (Too bad I'm overage long long time ago...)
Again, another car show!! Haha. Just can't get enough of car shows! Yet again, The girl accompanied me to Singapore's Motor Show 08 held in Suntec Convention Hall, once every 2 years. Guess she must be feeling sick and tired of car shows for now. Basically it was loss for ladies as there were nothing but show girls and hot cars, which I'm pretty sure that ladies were there either for the hot wheels or to accompany their partner. So thanks girl for keeping me company, with me busily snapping away with my camera. Hope you had a fun time playing around with the "bulky" camera too. =)
Here's some pictures to share:

Being a car enthusiastic that I am, Geri was kind enough to accompany me to this year's
Super Import Nights. It's an exhibition of fast cars and hot babes.

Lotus
But I would say that people are actually there for the babes rather than the cars. This year, there were import models from US, Thailand, Japan and even our very own local models. Frankly, the models added up to be more than the cars. Perhaps she was worried that I would be swarmed by a group of hot models, that's why she chose to take a look at this year's exhibition. =P A different company and a different feel. Guessed she would have really been bored throughout, considering the number of ladies who attended, could be counted with just both hands!! To think that we actually stayed for the whole day!! Nevertheless, managed to capture few shots of the fast cars and the babes and getting our money spent worthwhile... =P

Thanks Geri for accompanying me to an exhibition which is so uninteresting for ladies. Hopefully, you did not bore to death even with my company. =P
